Case Six Evolution
Problem List:
- Mandibular retrognathia
- Anterior open bite
- Vertical maxillary excess with increased gingival show on smiling
- Nasal airway obstruction secondary to inferior turbinate hypertrophy
- Nasal tip droop
- Increased vertical height of chin
- Difficulty in closing her lips together
- Bilateral dental crossbite relationship
Surgical Procedures Performed:
- Bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomies to advance the lower jaw
- Vertical reduction of chin and advancement to improve soft tissue profile
- Maxillary Le Fort I (multiple-piece) osteotomy to advance the upper jaw, expand, and close the anterior open bite and to impact the maxilla to reduce gingival show
- Partial bilateral inferior turbinectomies to improve nasal airway
